Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training Program 1500.02
Note: Operators must have already received hands-on training on the powered industrial trucks that will be used in the evaluation. This session is designed to verify the competency of the person being evaluated.
The program is designed to meet the OSHA powered industrial truck training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.178. The first part of the program includes classroom work on the basic principles, operations of industrial trucks such as forklifts and powered pallet jacks, and an examination. The second part of the training includes a required on-site hands-on training in pre-operation checks, and proper operation of the equipment the operator will be using.
The operator program includes 4-hours of classroom instruction on the basic principles and operations of powered industrial trucks (such as forklifts and powered pallet jacks), the design differences in powered industrial trucks, and a written examination.
The On-site Operator Evaluation will follow the OSHA requirements found in 1910.178(l). Each operator must successfully demonstrate how to safely operate the equipment in the conditions found in the place of employment.
Upon completion, participants receive a QSSI laminated training certification card.
